Wie ChatGPT die No-Code/Low-Code-Plattformen überflüssig macht

English version below (translation by ChatGPT).

How ChatGPT makes no-code/low-code platforms obsolete

While listening to podcast episode 95 of Christoph Pacher’s „State of Process Automation“, I couldn’t help but smile during the discussion of no-code/low-code platforms. It’s like a throwback to a previous era of software development. The world of ChatGPT has revolutionized software development, and I believe that the days of no-code/low-code platforms are numbered because I can now create software just by having a conversation with an AI like ChatGPT.

I tested it out for myself yesterday from my own couch by simply describing my vision for a website and ChatGPT generated the code for me based on established standards like HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java and SQL. No mouse and keyboard, just through conversation. The results were surprisingly good. So why invest in no-code/low-code platforms when I can generate code using established, widely used standards? I don’t want to be tied to any platform and have to endure the limitations that come with it.

I have always been skeptical of no-code/low-code platforms, but I wouldn’t have thought their end would come so soon. They are a dead end, in my opinion.

I’m already looking forward to the upcoming semester at the Technical University of Ingolstadt where I will teach my students this exciting new way of developing software for web and process development.

By the way, if no-code/low-code providers are interested in a serious collaboration to develop a meaningful development platform for business applications that doesn’t make their customers dependent, they can contact me through my email address .
